The College has maintained a strict policy over the years when obtaining funds for educational activities from the industry, to be within the scope of the WHO code of marketing breast milk substitutes. However, there have been a lot of discussion on whether the College should refrain from any financial transactions or any other form of support even from the industry that complies with the WHO code of marketing breast milk substitutes. As the milk food industry contributes significantly to the annual revenue of the College, the Council was concerned that such action could have a serious impact on College activities. Hence the Council of the college has decided to seek the opinion of the members to help to reach a decision for future activities.
