Instructions to Authors on Submission of Abstracts
Abstracts for the SLCP congress 2025 should conform to the following requirements and specifications.
- Abstracts should be submitted electronically via the abstract submission portal. PRINTED HARD COPY SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Submission Format for the Abstracts:
EACH SUBMISSION SHOULD BE UPLOADED IN THE FOLLOWING TWO FORMATS.
A. PDF Version
- Please ensure that the PDF version does not include the names of the authors or their affiliations.
- This version will be used for anonymous review.
B. MS Word Document
- The MS Word document version must include the names of all authors and their affiliations and contact details.
- Clearly specify the corresponding author and the presenting author in this version
- Abstracts may be based on original research, standard clinical audits, case reports, or case series directly related to paediatrics.
- Abstracts of original research and standard clinical audits should be structured into the following sub-headings (Introduction, Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusions)

Click here to download sample format. - Tables, figures or references should not be included in the abstract.
- The text of the body of the abstract should not exceed 300 words. No tables or images should be included into the abstract. In the case of Case Reports, a short description of an image, within the word limit, may be provided.
- Authors should specify whether the submission is for oral or poster presentation or to be considered for both. However, case reports will only be considered for poster presentation.
- The abstract should be submitted before the deadline, 4 pm, 7th April 2025. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DEADLINE WILL NOT BE EXTENDED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
- The author/s should take full intellectual responsibility for the work described in the submitted abstract.
- Ethical clearance should have been obtained in all appropriate situations. Details of Ethical Clearance and reference numbers must be provided in the body of the manuscript.
- All interventional studies and clinical trials should have been registered with a recognized clinical trials registry. Details of such registration and reference numbers must be provided in the body of the manuscript.
- The Editors of the Congress Proceedings Book reserve the right to make alterations, edit text and modify the abstract to improve the presentation.
- This is not finalised yet and is best excluded for the time being. Some discussion on the intricacies of this is needed before finalising this. The presenting author should be registered with the congress within two weeks of being informed of the acceptance of the abstract. If this is not complied with, the abstract will be removed from the Scientific Programme and the Congress Proceedings without further notification.
Please note: Abstracts not conforming to the above specifications and instructions will not be entertained and will be rejected. Once accepted, no revisions or alterations, including insertion and deletion of the names of authors, would be permitted.
