The annual congress of the Sri Lanka College of Paediatricians was held in conjunction with global congress for consensus in Paediatrics and Child Health (CIP) from the 12th of November 2017 to 15 th November 2017 at the Hilton Colombo. Delegates from forty two countries attended this congress. There were 200 international participants and 350 local participants. His Excellency the President Maithripala Sirisena as the Chief Guest and Minister of Health Rajitha Senaratne as the Guest of Honour graced this occasion. There was an excellent array of lecturers from a total of eighteen overseas speakers and sixteen local speakers. 172 poster presentations and 35 oral presentations contributed to the academic importance of the Congress. This international congress had 6 plenaries, and 12 master classes which were well attended by the registrants. The President CIP Dr Manuel Katz congratulated SLCP for having such good participation from the beginning to end and even at the closing ceremony.
A Mobile app was used for the first time in a congress organised by SLCP through our local arrangement which allowed delegates to download the program and interact with each other. For the first time in history we were able to provide high speed internet that could be used by hundreds of participants simultaneously with high connectivity speed in all areas of the congress with the help of Dialog which was also arranged locally.
We are delighted to announce that the Sri Lanka College of Paediatricians is hosting the 6th Global Congress for Consensus in Paediatrics and Child Health (CIP) in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from November 12-15, 2017.
CIP brings an innovative and stimulating global academic debate platform searching for consensus and agreements on main child health pathologies, management options of paediatric health problems, difficulties faced and controversies.
The outstanding scientific program will feature distinguished keynote addresses, cutting edge state-of-the-science lectures, debates on controversies and compelling presentations by main leaders in paediatrics.
The CIP congress will allow networking between local, regional and other international participants who will be travelling from all over the globe.
