SLCP 2026 Research Awards

The Sri Lanka College of Paediatricians Award for the Best PubMed or Scopus Indexed Research Publication by a Sri Lankan Paediatric Trainee – 2026

In order to promote research among Sri Lankan Paediatric Trainees, the Sri Lanka College of Paediatricians (SLCP) introduced an Award for the Best PubMed or Scopus Indexed Research Publications by a Sri Lankan Paediatric Trainee in the year 2026.

 

Eligibility Criteria

  1. The research article should be published between 1st January 2025 to 31st December 2025. A copy of the publication should be submitted along with the application.
  2. The research article should be published in a Journal indexed in PubMed or Scopus.
  3. Only the Full Original Research Paper Publications will be considered. Other publications (E.g., Reviews, Case Reports, Brief Reports, Letters to the Editors, Commentaries, Abstracts, etc.) will not be considered.
  4. The applicant should be or should have been a Postgraduate Trainee in General Paediatrics or a Paediatric Subspeciality, of the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo at the time of conducting the study.
  5. The applicant should be the first listed author of the publication.

The selection of the Best High-Impact Research Publications will be done by a 3-member panel appointed by the Council of Sri Lanka College of Paediatricians. The award will be presented for the publications in 2025. The winner will be awarded a certificate at the SLCP Annual Academic Sessions 2026.

Eligible Paediatric Trainees are kindly requested to submit applications along with the following on or before 7th May 2026 to the SLCP office submission portal. No hard copies are accepted.

  1. A copy of the publication
  2. Evidence that the journal is indexed in PubMed and/or Scopus.
  3. Evidence that the applicant was a trainee in Paediatrics or a Paediatric Subspeciality of the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo at the time of conducting the study.

Sri Lanka College of Paediatricians Award for the Best High-Impact Research Publication by an Early Career (Young and Mid-life) Sri Lankan Paediatrician – 2026

To promote research among Sri Lankan Paediatricians, the Sri Lanka College of Paediatricians (SLCP) introduced an Award for the Best High-Impact Research Publication by an Early Career (Young and Mid-life) Sri Lankan Paediatrician in the year 2026.

 

Eligibility Criteria

  1. The research article should be published between 1st January 2025 to 31st December 2025. A copy of the publication should be submitted along with the application.
  2. The research article should be published in a Journal indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded of the Web of Science Master Journal List.
  3. Only the Full Original Research Paper Publications will be considered. Other publications (E.g., Reviews, Case Reports, Brief Reports, Letters to the Editors, Commentaries, and Abstracts etc.) will not be eligible for consideration.
  4. The applicant should be either the first or the last listed author of the publication.
  5. The applicant should be aged less than 50 years of age at the date of the original submission of the article to the journal. The date of the original submission should be clearly listed in the publication or a certificate to that effect from the journal should be provided.
  6. The applicant should be a Sri Lankan Paediatrician working in Sri Lanka
  7. The Sri Lankan Institution to which the applicant is affiliated should be included as an affiliation in the publication
  8. The applicant should be a member of the Sri Lanka College of Paediatricians (SLCP).
  9. The applicant should be a Sri Lankan citizen permanently residing in Sri Lanka.

The selection of the Best High-Impact Research Publication will be done by a 3-member panel appointed by the Council of Sri Lanka College of Paediatricians. The award will be presented for the publications in 2025. The winner will be awarded a certificate at the SLCP Annual Academic Sessions 2026.

Eligible Consultant Paediatricians are kindly requested to submit applications along with the following on or before 7th May 2026 to the SLCP office via the submission portal. No hard copies are accepted.

  1. A copy of the publication clearly showing the date of submission to the journal.
  2. Evidence that the journal is indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded.
  3. Evidence that the applicant is a Paediatrician working and resident in Sri Lanka (A service certificate from the head of the institution).
  4. A copy of the passport or NIC confirming the date of birth
